My Summer Holidays :(

A couple of days ago I posted about not posting regularly and decided to do something about it. From this day forward I will be posting twice a week on the subject of Admin Update™.

This means that any post with the prefix "Admin Update™:" will be about the progress (if any) or the problems I am having in my Summer Holiday project at work. As you may be aware I am an IT Manager in a school, and as such, for the school holiday period, unlike fellow teachers, (Expat Teacher and June Rain, I'm looking at you:) I will be still hard at work.

This will include:-

backing up student's and teacher's work

re-wiring the rack

installing Tiger Server

setting up all 250 Users again

building a Tiger Client clone image (with all necessary software pre-installed

distributing the clone to all 65 Macs

cleaning 55 keyboards & mice

overseeing the installation of a 2Mbps Leased Line

downloading super-fast bittorrented movies ;)

So, as you can see, I have a very busy holiday ahead of me.

Making that stupid twice-a-week pledge at the beginning of the post probably doesn't help the work-load, but what's a blogger to do ;)

15 Minutes of Fame (Almost)

A few days ago I posted a reply on one of TUAW's many, many daily posts.

This particular post was about a program called Ego Systems' Widget Preference Pane, which I haven't actually tried yet (note to self: get round to trying soon). I had noticed that the poster before me didn't like the idea of a version 1.0 of a program, which I can fully understand (it's a rule that I don't always follow) so I posted back that there was another option, in the form of Downtown Software House's Widget Manager v1.1.0.

You may be thinking what this has to do with my claim to fame in the title of this post. Well I think being mentioned on my favourite blog is great and then to have my blog directly linked to was brilliant.

Yes! I truly am a geek! ;)

Long Time, No Post

OK, unlike my good friend and colleague Expat Teacher, who posts (not only once, but twice) that he has no time to post.

I truly have been too busy to post, up until now. Hence the long gap between this post and the last one. ;)

Working in the same school as Expat, I, also, am in my last week before Summer Holidays, and have been very busy during the last few weeks. But, unlike Expat I am not a teacher (with a nice 8 week holiday). I am part of the Admin staff (with 3 weeks absence to take over the 8 week period) and therefore will continue to be busy. Hopefully, not too busy to Post on this blog or contribute to others.
