Happy Belated Blogiversary

Hi,

I have been so busy with life, that I missed my blogs birthday! On the 1st of May, 2005 this blog had it's first post.

22 posts later and we are here, and I have to say I have been a very poor blogger. Not even managing one post per week, while one of my colleagues rattles off 2 or more a day.

So, this year I hope to grow up a bit and start blogging a bit more. With luck I can manage 1 a week.

How hard can it be? ;-)

Update of my life

Hi All,

I am currently on a training course for my ACSA (Apple Certified Systems Analyst). I have a Directory Services Exam tomorrow afternoon, and on Friday a Security Exam.

All this, after a 4-day trip to the Centre for Alternative Technology in Wales with the Grade 5 class from work. My head feels like a vegetable.

But, the certificate I will get is a good one, and will open lots of doors for me.

I will post some photos from Wales, soon.

In the mean time, here is some wonderfully useless trivia, apparently on Wednesday there will be a once-in-a-lifetime event, well almost (as thomas mentions it will happen around the world at hourly intervals, and again on the 4th of May in many places).

Will post soon, Have Fun™

Very Funny! - Found this at TUAW

Long time no post!

My apologies for my continued laziness in writing this blog. The triangle of friends (I swear only 3 read this blog, nowhere near enough people for a circle) that read this will know that I have been busy, but this is no excuse.

I will try to blog more often, but don't hold me to that.

I just wanted to share this gem with you's after seeing it on TUAW.

Wow! Check out the driving skills!

This advert for the Isuzu is fascinating to watch, as you keep wondering how they managed to do it. (WARNING: The music is a little loud, so if at work turn down speakers first!)

As this is a Window Media file, I would think about downloading Flip4Mac, unless you happen to be unlucky enough to own a PC (in which case, I am sad for you).

Flip4Mac is a great little plug-in that makes WMV files play through QuickTime, and therefore Safari.

Are you a Nerd, Geek, or a Dork?

Joe Normal
34 % Nerd, 34% Geek, 26% Dork
For The Record:

A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.

A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.

A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.

You scored less than half in all three, earning you the title of: Joe Normal.

This is not to say that you don't have some Nerd, Geek or Dork inside of you--we all do, and you can see the percentages you have right above. This is just to say that none of those qualities stand out so much as to define you. Sure, you enjoy an episode of Star Trek now and again, and yeah, you kinda enjoyed a few classes back in the day. And, once in a while, you stumble while walking down the street even though there was nothing there to cause you to trip. But, for the most part, you look and act fairly typically, and aren't much of an outcast.

I'd say there's a fair chance someone asked you to take this test. In any event, fairly normal.

Congratulations!

The future is not orange, it's just around the corner!

Grand Idea Studio

Can you believe this was a hard drive platter 30-odd years ago!

We now have a 60GB 1.8-inch Hard-drive ,a 6GB 1-inch Micro-drive, and a 4GB 0.85-inch Hard-drive.

Where might we be in ten years time! MRAM is just round the corner, and then we go Quantum

More Mac mini stuff

BenQ's 19-inch display made for Mac mini

There must be more third party products built for Mac minis than any other Apple Computer, and what's more they all look great. I really want a Mac mini. But may need to rob a bank to get all the extras. :)

I want a Mac mini

Max out your mini with matching drive and speaker system

Wow! Now I have another reason for wanting a Mac mini

Subway “parasite” uses a Mac mini to project art:

They will probably start showing adverts on the the tube soon.

But it would be very worrying to see someone strap a case to the side of a London Underground train, especially since the 7th of July.
